Ireland might not be going to the Euros this summer but they’re getting prepared for a new World Cup campaign this year and are getting their ducks in a row.
Taking on Hungary in a Friendly in Ireland, former Celtic loan bhoy Adam Idah opened the scoring with a signature header, blasting it into the back of the net from close range.
It’s been under two weeks since the Irishman came on as a second half substitute against Rangers and scored a 90th minute winner to win Celtic the Scottish cup in the most dramatic fashion.
Back playing for his country, he’s taken his club form into the national side.
Celtic’s Bosun Lawal also got a call up to the main squad for this game.
As for Adam Idah, there’s hope among the Celtic fans that a deal can be done with Norwich to bring the striker back on a permanent basis next season.
Talks will likely continue in the coming weeks but there is every chance it could drag on with Norwich’s new boss understandably wanting to assess Idah before he makes a decision.
