As we head int the final few days of the transfer window, many of us are very surprised Odsonne Edouard is still at the club.

The player has wanted his move away for more than a year but continues to play for the Hoops and came on in the second half of their 3-2 aggregate triumph of Alkmaar on Thursday night.

The bids have not been forthcoming for the Celtic star because the valuation of the player has scared off many clubs.

The players reported wage demands have also been an issue for interested parties.

Journalist Alan Nixon has reported this Friday morning that French side Bordeaux have now entered the race to sign the Celtic striker. The reporter also claims Celtic have brought down their transfer demands for the frontman.

Celtic are in talks to sign Georgios Giakoumakis from Venlo before the deadline so they have another striker set to come in the door if Eddy does pack his bags in the final days.

Odsonne has not been at his best, but his talent is undeniable. There are some clubs sleeping on this striker who may end playing much more for him three years down the line.

The alternative for Celtic is to keep a hold of Eddy and allow him to run his contract down. Could he have a bigger impact for Celtic’s finances by staying and helping them qualify for the Champions League?
