SPFL clubs attended a meeting on Monday lunchtime to discuss the potential addition of VAR to Scottish football.
However, it doesn’t look like the technology will be in use in the country any time soon. The meeting was concluded within half an hour with no decisions made.
Doesn’t seem like there will be a quick introduction of VAR to Scottish football ; the @spfl Premiership clubs met at lunchtime to discuss it. Meeting lasted just under an hour and a half. No decisions made. It remains ‘a work in progress’

The technology would arrive in the SPFL before the 2022 World Cup; the latest developments suggest that the wait may be even longer.
Last week, Stephen McGowan revealed that VAR would cost top-flight clubs £100,000 a season, a fee only the bigger clubs could afford.
There is some appetite for the equipment to come into use. However, almost every fan base is split on the matter, meaning not everyone will be satisfied no matter the decision. Celtic’s stance, like many clubs, is in support of the Virtual Assistant Referee to make its way to the Scottish game.
The SPFL are looking at ways to drive down the cost of the technology before proposing the idea to clubs again.
