Update: Dominic McKay’s Government Request

We exclusively told you yesterday Celtic had requested a bigger allocation to be permitted to the stadium for Celtic’s Champions League game next week.

The game against Midtjylland will only have 2000 fans allowed in at present but the club are pushing for more. The only thing we weren;t certain about is how many fans the club would be asking for.

SunSport are claiming the figure Dominic McKay is asking for is around 18k.

If Celtic could get that many fans into the ground, as we’ve witnessed from this year’s Euro 2020 competition, it can make a massive difference to the match.

Celtic fans have been locked out of the stadium to watch a match since March 2020. There will be 2000 in the door for the Preston game this weekend and if the request is turned down, 2000 at the Champions League qualifier and the same for the West Ham friendly the following week.

Hampden had around 12k for internationals, Murrayfield had 16k, why can’t Celtic have something similar? We live in hope.
