Celtic winger Mikey Johnston made his first appearance for the club in around 18 months on Saturday afternoon. The Ireland international came off the bench in the second half against Hibs and looked to threaten.
In the end, his presence didn’t affect the overall result, but that didn’t stop his teammate Greg Taylor from singling him out for praise. He said post-match (Glasgow Times): “He’s got bags of ability Mikey. One v one in training, he’s right up there with the best. You see his performances for Ireland, they’ve been very strong as well. So, Mikey’s got ability. It’s just about delivering on a consistent level. If he does that in training, then he’ll get the opportunity in games. There is a top player there.”

Going by what Rodgers and now Taylor have said, Johnston is impressing on the training pitch. Fairly, he has been given minutes because of this although he wasn’t able to make use of those at Easter Road.
