Up in the Air – New Twist in Celtic’s Bid to Land DoF

There has been conflicting reports over the past 24 hours surround the potential status of Gordon Strachan at Celtic.

The former manager and Celtic pass pundit has been tipped to take over as technical director over the weekend but that was shutdown by the Scotsman on Sunday – the paper claiming the former Scotland boss was NOT in the running.

But the man better placed to answer what’s going on is Stephen McGowan who has claimed in MailSport today the club are still holding talks with Strachan over a potential return.

Like many things at Celtic, the role of a new technical director is up in the air.

Dominic McKay done the rounds last week on Celtic fan media to introduce himself. The new CEO spoke to us about his plans for the future and the modernisation of Celtic football club – I’m unsure where Gordon Strachan fits in when we talk about modernisation.

I’ve said for some time, I think Gordon is a great ambassador for the club and speaks well on our behalf, but what can he bring to the table at this stage in the game?
