Unsavoury Scenes Outside Hampden Ahead of Cup Final; Police Intervention

There have been unsavoury clashes this morning between Celtic and Rangers fans with footage showing police trying to split up the two sets of fans.

We believe both sets of supporters are in the area early to set up banners inside the stadium when this broke out. It’s scenes we don’t want to see in Glasgow on days like these.

The police seemingly forward facing the Celtic fans more than anything else is very peculiar. The Green Brigade move towards the stand they’ll be occupying and setting up the TIFO.

This kind of stuff had largely died off in the 00s but ultras culture has come back in a big way.

Ultra culture can add colour and noise to games like today in a very positive way. But getting into fights with the opposition fans on the day of the game should be consigned to the past. To be fair, this looks like handbag stuff for the most part.

The two teams are set to meet in the cup final with a 3pm kick off scheduled.

CeltsAreHere will be reporting on the game live from Hampden this afternoon. It promises to be a fiery affair with both teams desperate for the win. The sides have met twice this season; a 4-0 win for Celtic and a 2-2 draw at Ibrox.
