DEDRYK BOYATA has had a whirlwind 18-months that has put him on a plane to Russia for the World Cup.
The Belgian has gone from Celtic back up player to leading man for his club and now he may be thrust into the spotlight for his country.
With a Vincent Kompany still a doubt, especially for a Belgium’s opener, Dedryk may be getting the most unlikeliest of starts.
Speaking to the press ahead of the tournament, the Celtic defender admitted he’d be delighted to start but hopes Kompany can play his part.

Boyata was once an afterthought at Celtic and when Ronny Deila left the club it looked like his Parkhead career was over.
However, the culmination of a suspension and working hard in training got the Belgian a way back in during a wintry Scottish Cup game against Albion Rovers and he’s never looked back.
Dedryk has been a big part of the invincible and double treble seasons.
Celtic fans will be hoping to see the big man do himself justice if he does get on the field this summer.
