This new cap represents a decrease from the previous limit of €70 (£59) established in 2019, marking the first reduction in five years.

For Celtic, participating in the revamped Champions League format this season, the pricing adjustment is particularly pertinent. The Scottish champions are set to host Slovan Bratislava, RB Leipzig, Club Brugge, and BSC Young Boys in Glasgow, while their supporters will travel to exciting fixtures against Borussia Dortmund, Atalanta, Dinamo Zagreb, and Aston Villa.

Celtic set their ticket pricing for their season ticket holders on Monday, with tickets coming in at £46 a game. This means that away fans could potentially be paying just £4.55 more than Celtic season ticket holders.

The updated pricing policy is a result of collaborative discussions involving UEFA, Football Supporters Europe (FSE), and the European Club Association (ECA). It aims to make away games more accessible for fans, acknowledging the essential role they play in the vibrant atmosphere of European nights. This move is seen as a step toward mitigating the financial burden on supporters who follow their teams across the continent, ensuring that the spirit of football remains inclusive and fan-friendly.
