On Wednesday morning, the UEFA Conference League X account posted a highlight reel of Nygren’s hat-trick against Fenerbahçe last season.

All three of Nygren’s goals came from his left foot, and it was a display that probably helped put him firmly on Celtic’s radar. The 23-year-old was in electric form for Nordsjaelland throughout the campaign and is expected to be announced as a Hoops player in the coming days.

His show-stopping performance against Fenerbahçe displayed the qualities that Celtic fans will be hoping translate to Parkhead.

If the deal is completed as expected, Nygren could prove a clever acquisition for Brendan Rodgers’ side as they gear up for another crack at the Champions League. With seven goals and multiple assists in Europe last season, his pedigree is clear.

Getting him for a cut-rice, £1.7 million, makes the deal even sweeter. It does feel like a signing to get quite excited about.

For now, the highlight reel will only wet the appetite for supporters who will be eager to see him don the green and white next season.
