Two Major Celtic Squad Omissions Nobody Really Noticed

The Celtic squad for the St Johnstone game was interesting in many ways. Of course, it was great to see Giakoumakis start his first game and Juranovic back in the side.

It was disappointing that it was a left back slot for Juranovic. Celtic have Boli Bolingoli, Adam Montgomery and Liam Scales who can all play the position. Going with Juranovic at left back when Ralston could have been doing with a break was a bit of a surprise.

It’s even more surprising we didn’t see Liam Scales in the squad at all today. The Irishman has yet to make a start for the club since signing at the end of August. We wonder if Liam is struggling with what’s being asked of him in training.

Similarly, we were told James McCarthy was fit and able to be in the squad, yet he remained out of the match day group.

Has Ange made his mind up on James or is he concerned about the midfielders fitness?

Celtic are in a good place and there’s so much ti be positive about, but we’d love to know what the manager’s thoughts are on both Liam and James.

Ange can name seven players on the bench and use three in the SPFL. The more we have players back at full fitness the harder it’s going to be for these players to hold down a place.

We totally respect the manager’s decision, as fans we’re curious as to why certain decisions are made.

If fan media was ever allowed to get access to the manager, it would clear up some of these questions for sure.
