In today’s Europa League draw both Celtic and Scottish Premiership rivals Rangers found out who they will be facing in the coming months.
The hoops, of course, were drawn against Sparta Prague, AC Milan and Lille in Group H whilst Rangers will face Benfica, Standard Liege and Lech Poznan.
With this draw, it also meant that a few former Celts would be making a return to Glasgow.
Celtic themselves, will be facing off against former on-loan PSG winger Timothy Weah, who is now contracted to the French side, Lille.
Whereas, former central defender, Thomas Rogne will be coming up against Rangers, who he once scored a late goal against in a 3-2 defeat back in 2012.
Both players have experience of playing under current manager Neil Lennon, to mixed success.
Rogne was first signed by the Northern Irishman and over three years went on to play 50 games for the club, scoring two. Weah joined the club on loan in the season that Lennon took over as caretaker manager. This saw the American gaining less playtime though and ultimately his short loan was cut short.
It will be good to see some familiar names returning who have once played for the green side of Glasgow but hopefully, one, in particular, doesn’t come back to bite us, in Weah’s case.
