Celtic’s 2023/24 season begins today.
The Bhoys return to Lennoxtown on Monday for initial pre-season preparation before heading out to Portugal for a warm weather camp and then on to Asia for a tour.
In Portugal, it was expected the Hoops would simply be training although if you look up Celtic’s fixtures on Google, it is clear that a duo of friendlies are scheduled.
Portuguese side Portimonense look to be the opposition for the Scottish champions.
The first of two clashes with the Liga Portugal side is due to take place on Wednesday, July 12th at 5 pm with the second three days later on Saturday, July 15th at 11 am.

On Google, it says the matches will take place at ‘The Campus’, which is a top, sports training facility and complex on the south coast of Portugal, near Albufeira.
This is likely where Celtic will be staying whilst in Portugal.
With the lack of coverage of the aforementioned friendlies on any official pages of Celtic or Portimonense, it is likely they will be behind-closed-doors clashes.
Nevertheless, the games are only positive and the ideal opportunity for the Bhoys to warm up ahead of their Japan tour.
