Boost For Fans As TV Showing Announced For Europa League Tie

In the past few days, some fans have been left questioning whether Thursday night’s tie will be shown live in the UK.

This evening BBC Scotland announced that they would be taking up the tie in the Czech Republic, with Celtic fans being given the boost of the game being on Freeview TV, live on Sportscene.

The coverage will begin 15 minutes before the earlier kickoff on Thursday at 16:30, with former Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew joining Steven Thompson for the buildup.

Over recent years, we have become used to games being shown on subscription-based channels such as Premier and BT Sports.

So, it is good news to see Scottish teams in action in Europe return to free-viewing TV for all supporters.

Ange Postecoglou is on the hunt for his first competitive win as the Celtic boss and will be hoping his side can take a healthy lead into the second leg at Paradise next week.
