‘Trust the Process’ – Celtic Confirm Defender Loan Deal

CELTIC has finally confirmed today that Andrew Gutman has joined Charlotte Independence on loan, two weeks after we reported on the deal being done.

Celtic Send Defender Out on Loan

The player was meant to be going out on loan to Nashville, but with the player already training with the club they were told they could not sign the defender because Chicago Fire owned his homegrown rights and as Nashville is getting set to be an MLS member they’re prohibited from doing the deal.

This left Andrew Gutman in limbo, unable to be registered as a Celtic player but having no club in the US. Former Celtic coach Jim McGuiness stepped in and has brought Gutman to Charlotte where Gutman will spend at least the first half of the new American season.

Taking to Instagram today, Andrew Gutman posted a picture with the tagline ‘trust the process’. The player must now look to develop under the former Celtic coach and hopefully, come to Celtic in the summer or soon after ready to go.
