REPORTS yesterday evening claimed Celtic were interested in bringing in Liverpool outcast Pedro Chirivella after the player was told he was surplus to requirements at Anfield.

However, these reports are wide of the mark and there is no plans by Brendan Rodgers to recruit the youngster from his former club.

Celtic seem to be a victim of agents pushing their clients names out there – using the Parkhead club as a vehicle to whip up interest in their players.

Celtic have targets they are working on bringing in. The club are awaiting a work permit for Daniel Arzani and are still hopeful of a deal for John McGinn if Aston Villa don’t convince him to move down south.
