It is well reported at this stage now that that Arsenal has had a bid for Kieran Tierney rejected by Celtic. The figure of 15 million has been quoted by The Sun newspaper this morning. According to the article, the figure doesn’t come close to the Parkhead clubs valuation of the player.
What has been somewhat overlooked is that the same article claims that Napoli has also made enquiries about Tierney, who has 12 caps for his country. Apparently, the Italian club has requested to be kept up to date on the situation. The Italians can afford to match any offer Arsenal make although moving to Italy would be a massive life change for the Celtic icon and he would have a lot more to consider with a move abroad.
Celtic will not be in any hurry to sell their star player, who at 22 years of age, is one of the best fullbacks in Britain already. He is contracted to the Bhoys until 2023, which means Celtic will not be in a hurry to sell the player.
The player is still recovering from a double Hernia operation. The player himself is a Celtic fan, and came through the academy at Parkhead and may not wish to move on just yet.
