Alexandro Bernabei has transformed from a Celtic misfit into a sought-after talent in South America.

The Argentine left-back, signed from Argentina, has caught the attention of top Brazilian clubs, where he currently is on loan.
He’s been making headlines back in Scotland, too. He’s been scoring and assisting over the past few weeks with clips going about social media.
After making 19 appearances in all competitions during his initial season at Celtic, Bernabei found himself out of favour once Brendan Rodgers took the helm, with his discipline not helping his case either. This led to a loan move to Internacional until the end of 2024, where he has since been rediscovering his form.
Internacional has expressed a desire to secure Bernabei’s services permanently, but they now face stiff competition from other Brazilian heavyweights. Corinthians and Cruzeiro, the latter owned by Brazilian football legend Ronaldo, are both reportedly interested in the 24-year-old defender.
O Tempo reports that Corinthians are actively monitoring Bernabei’s progress, while Cruzeiro’s interest hinges on Internacional’s decision not to activate their purchase option.
Internacional could potentially secure Bernabei for around £8 million, if reports over the past few weeks are to be believed, a significant investment that reflects his rising stock in Brazilian football.
