Transfer Insider Discusses Major Celtic Rumour

CELTIC won’t be able to afford Bristol City man Antoine Semenyo, according to tranfer insider Dean Jones. The 22-year-old is currently contracted to Bristol City, who play in the English Championship.

The Englishman has six goals and eight assists to his name so far this season and has resulted in Bournemouth and Nottingham Forrest chasing his signature.

Celtic sent their chief scout Craig Strachan – the son of Gordon and brother of Gavin – to the side’s match against Reading. The striker played the entire game and got on the scoresheet once as Bristol won 2-1.

Transfer inside Dean Jones believes the striker will not end up at Celtic, despite the apparent interest. As quoted by Give Me Sport, he stated;

“I don’t know if they could afford him, to be honest.”

It’s a reality of today’s market. While other leagues are spending tens of millions, in some cases hundreds of millions, Celtic are keeping their spending figures low compared to the rest of Europe.

Celtic’s record signing is Odsonne Edouard, who arrived for £9,000,000 with a hefty sell-on clause. Semenyo would reportedly cost Celtic about £20,000,000, according to TeamTalk, well out of Celtic’s price range.
