Celtic are reportedly set to miss out on loan target and Tottenham left-sided player, Ryan Sessegnon.
According to several reports across Europe, including one of the most reliable journalists when it comes to transfer news, Fabrizio Romano, the Spurs winger is close to completing a season-long loan move to German Bundesliga side, Hoffenheim.

Earlier in the week, Celtic had made an approach for the 20-year old. Even though the player was thought to be keen, the finances involved in the deal were thought to be problematic in making it happen, with Spurs wanting upwards of £5 million in loan fees.
On paper, Sessegnon would have been a brilliant pick-up by the club and ideal for the sort of player we are currently looking for, in the left-wing back position.
The thought of him and Frimpong on either side would have been frightening for opposition defences.
Ultimately though, the fee was just too high. Paying upwards of £5 million for a loan player would be ridiculous for us when we could pay that sort of money for a player who would be at the club for four or five years.
