CELTIC are still in the hunt for Vakoun Issouf Bayo after having their initial offer rebuffed this week.
However, it’s not just Celtic who are interested in the striker. Rapid Vienna have shown a keen interest in the Ivory Coast player.
Dunajska Streda coach Jan Novota, has commented on the speculation linking him with a move away and has told the player he would be served well at Rapid Vienna.
“I think Bayo would be a great fit for Rapid and this club would be the right move for him.” he told SunSport.
“The Austrian league is obviously stronger than the Slovakian one and I think it would be the perfect match for him.
“He is a real talent, make no mistake.
“He is physically strong and fast and he’s certainly not at the end of his development”
The former goalkeeper does have a dog in the race as such, playing for Rapid Vienna back in his footballing days.
Celtic made a bid of around £1.75million for his services while reports suggest just £2.3million will be enough to secure the striker.
The bhoys need players who can do a job now, and if it’s not going to take too much more to secure the player, then Celtic must look to get it done.
The bhoys fly out on Saturday for their winter training camp, and as of yet, no new bhoys will be joining the team in Dubai.
