TODD Cantwell has weighed in on the debate around whether The Rangers should give Celtic a guard of honour when they visit Ibrox Stadium tomorrow.

Gers manager, Michas already confirmed that they would not be applauding the league winners onto the pitch.

Cantwell has expressed his agreement with this decision, citing the strong rivalry between the clubs as the main reason; he believes that if the boot was on the other foot, Celtic would not be so willing to oblige.

When asked about the snub, the former Norwich City star simply stated: [Football Scotland]

“I do as I’m told on a matchday. We’ve got our normal regime and the idea from my end is we stick to that.

“Do I think it should happen? To be honest with the rivalry I can’t imagine them doing that for us. I don’t know but I can’t imagine it has happened, so I would probably suggest it wouldn’t.”

I don’t think many Celtic fans wanted, or expected, to receive a guard of honour at Ibrox. Nevertheless, the meltdown as a consequence of it would’ve been enjoyable.

Celtic are looking to remain undefeated against their rivals this season, and will be setting out to win the match tomorrow. The team are on a great run, with the manager looking to finish the season strongly.
