Todd Cantwell has attempted to back down from his comments about Celtic over the weekend. The Englishman played from the start at Celtic Park and couldn’t help his team get an all-important win.
After the game, the Norwich flop took to social media to tell The Rangers support that Celtic hadn’t won the tie so much as his side at lost it. His sentiment is their mistakes gifted Celtic the win.
It was highly disrespectful and smacked of delusion from a guy who has been in Glasgow for two minutes. Celtic’s second and third goals were all about the bhoys pressing and being clinical. We took our chances when they came our way and deserved the win in the end, despite not being at our best.
After seeing the uproar he’s caused, Cantwell attempted to diffuse things by saying he meant no disrespect.
No jibe at all, always respect your opponent’s. https://t.co/XzQhunwCsa

If it wasn’t a dig at Celtic, what was it, Todd?
The Hoops scored three goals and were the team doing most of the attacking. The bhoys have so many threats from open play, whereas The Rangers had to play a game of set pieces for the most part. Get into areas and win fouls to either have a pop at goal like Tavernier did manage to do or swing it in, and hopefully, one of the bigger lads gets their head on it.
The tactics showed Michael Beale knows Celtic is fundamentally better than his side.
Despite their tactics keeping them in the game, they eventually fell to a high-energy Celtic side that can get a win, even when they aren’t at their best.
