Celtic midfielder Tomoki Iwata scored his first goal for the club on Sunday afternoon. Coming off the bench in the closing stages, the Japan internationalist rattled in off the bar to make it 4-1 to his side.
Signed from Yokohama F. Marinos last January, he had been anticipating his maiden strike in green and white for a long while and after finally getting it, Iwata hailed the day as ‘unforgettable’. He even said on Instagram that the wait ‘was maybe too long’:

In the comments, the likes of Greg Taylor and Daizen Maeda congratulated him. To Taylor, Iwata replied ‘Thank you my English teacher’ whilst he reminded his fellow countryman Maeda his name is Tomoki Iwata after he praised his body. O’Riley was also among the comments quipping ‘my machine’.

It is clear to see that all of Iwata’s teammates were pleased for him after his goal. Such camaraderie within the team is pleasing to see and hopefully, the spirit lasts as long as can be.
