Thursday Night Celtic Jota Leak

A picture of Celtic winger Jota wearing an unfamiliar Celtic shirt has been circulating on social media recently, sparking plenty of speculation among fans. The image has led to widespread speculation about whether it could be a potential kit or training top for next season, but it’s important to take these rumours with a pinch of salt until something more concrete emerges.

At first glance, it’s easy to see why fans might get excited. The shirt in question doesn’t look like anything currently out, and with next season’s kits inevitably on the minds of supporters, it’s only natural to wonder if it could be a glimpse of what’s to come. However, there’s no official confirmation yet, and until we see a more substantial release from the club, it’s wise not to jump to conclusions.

One thing that makes this particular speculation interesting is the fact that Footy Headlines, a reliable source for kit previews, has already teased the return of the iconic “bumblebee” away kit for next season. Known for their trustworthy reporting on Celtic’s kit designs, Footy Headlines shared their preview on X (formerly Twitter), fuelling excitement among Celtic supporters.

The bumblebee kit has a special place in Celtic’s history, with the striking black-and-yellow stripes first making waves in the mid-90s before being brought back in 2009. Its return would undoubtedly excite many fans, but it seems unlikely that the shirt Jota was spotted wearing is in any way related to this.

Adding to the speculation, Celtic Women’s defender Chloe Craig took to her Instagram story earlier today, saying “Day two done,” hinting that Celtic players are currently filming adverts for next season’s kits. This suggests that the Hoops is already preparing for the launch of next season’s kits, which is often done well in advance of the end of the current season.

If this is true, it could mean that the shirt Jota was photographed in is part of a new kit, although it’s still unclear whether it’s a training top or a new kit.

To add to the confusion, last year an image of a supposed Celtic home kit for the 2024/25 season began circulating online. This shirt, which featured a tartan twist, was initially mistaken for an official release. However, it was later revealed that the design was a fan-made concept from a creator known as HariboHeron. This incident serves as an example that not everything we see online should be taken at face value, especially when it comes to kit leaks.

While it’s always fun to speculate about new kits and training gear, it’s important that Celtic supporters remain patient. As we’ve seen in the past, unofficial leaks can often be misleading, and the true designs will only come to light when Celtic are eventually ready to unveil them officially. Until then, it’s best to enjoy the speculation and look forward to official announcements, knowing that anything we see online now should be treated with caution.
