Three Former Celtic Players Catch Up in Belgium

Three former Celtic players and their families have been seen on social media over the weekend holidaying together in Belgium.

Dorus de Vries, Dedryck Boyata and Cristian Gamboa were all in each others company and catching up with each other since their time at Celtic.

The trio must have struck up a great friendship while at Celtic.

Gamboa left last summer when his contract ran out as did De Vries who also retired shortly after. Dedryk Boyata signed a pre-contract agreement with Hertha Berlin and left the club after four years as a first-team player.

De Vries and Gamboa were nothing more than bit-part players at the club and speak to an ineffective recruiting system under Brendan Rodgers.

De Vries was supposed to come in and challenge Craig Gordon for his place but the veteran goalkeeper had a few howlers. Cristian Gamboa came in to challenge Mikael Lustig but the Swede constantly kept him out of the team.

It’s great to see they still have mates from their time at the club.
