Reported Celtic target Thomas Henry is closing in on a deal to sign for Belgian club Gent.
The striker has been reportedly up for a move to Celtic [Football Insider] but Gent are the only club officially in the running to snap up the 26-year-old.
The French striker looks destined to move on from OH Leuven and according to Nieuwsblad Gent are closing in on a £4.5m deal for the frontman.
Celtic have four strikers at the moment; Odsonne Edouard, Kyogo Furuhashi, Albian Ajeti and Leigh Griffiths. Many expected Edouard to be out the door by now but no move has materialised.
It means Celtic will not be looking to make a legitimate offer for another striker until Eddy is out the door and they have secured funds for their centre forward.
Henry might be on Celtic’s list but Gent have a free run at him unless things change very quickly.
