‘They’ve Really Impressed Me’ – Brendan Rodgers ‘Superb’ Celtic Praise

Celtic drew a blank at Hibernian at the weekend, coming away with just a point in a 0-0 draw. It was a disappointing afternoon but on the whole, manager Brendan Rodgers is happy with how things have gone so far this season.

Indeed the Irishman has his side five points clear at the top of the table and still in contention for Europe after Christmas following an impressive draw with Atletico Madrid.

A lot of this prosperity is down to the players, however, who Rodgers has hugely praised. He said (Football Scotland): “I think their attitude to learning and development is absolutely superb. They’ve really impressed me in that aspect, with how diligent they are. they’re a very close group, their spirit is very strong. They’re great ambassadors for the club.”

Although a number of new faces came through the door in the summer, the Celts started the season well. This is something that impressed the Parkhead gaffer. He said: “When you have a group of players like that, then you get new players coming in. Of course, that takes a bit of adaption but generally I’ve been really pleased, because you want to make a good start, and I think we’ve made a good start, but there are still 28 games left to go, and still a lot of exciting times ahead for us.”

Before the campaign comes to an end, there is still plenty of football to be played. Rodgers will hope his team can continue at the levels they are currently at (notwithstanding the recent result against Hibernian). If they do, silverware and even more success will be nigh.
