Celtic defeated Rangers by three goals to two last weekend as Ange Postecoglou’s men moved 12 points clear at the top of the table.
It is fair to say the Hoops weren’t at their best in the match and whilst their opponents did put up a fight, former Celtic frontman and now Sky Sports pundit believes the Gers have gotten more acclaim than they deserve for their performance in the match.
Walker told Go Radio (via Glasgow Times):
“When all is said and done, it’s all about results. I watched Rangers last week and I think they’re getting too much praise – they got beat.”
There are few Celtic fans who will disagree with Walker here. In spite of a few set pieces and a late surge of pressure, Rangers didn’t seem to threaten Celtic to a great extent.

Granted the Hoops also weren’t at their free flowing best, but they still managed to taste victory, something Walker never thought was in jeopardy:
“I didn’t ever think Rangers were going to win the game at any stage.”
Once more, there are not many who will disagree with this. Looking back, Celtic didn’t particularly lose control of the match at any point and managed to take the vital three points in the end.
Going forward, the Hoops face a trip to Rugby Park to face Kilmarnock on Sunday. It is a noontime kick off as Postecoglou looks to maintain, or potentially even extend, his team’s 12-point lead at the top of the table.
