The current season has been one of ups and downs for Celtic. Some gut-wrenching defeats have been suffered but equally, fans have experienced a few uplifting victories.
Two wins over Rangers have encouraged supporters but notably this season, the Hoops secured a first home Champions League triumph in a decade.
Although their matchday six clash with Feyenoord was a ‘dead rubber’, the Celts’ 2-1 victory felt significant.
Luis Palma opened the scoring with a penalty and although Yankuba Minteh levelled late on, Gustaf Lagerbielke’s stoppage-time header secured a long-awaited win at European football’s top-table for the Bhoys.

What puts such a win into perspective is Feyenoord’s latest result. They took on Ajax at de Kuip on Sunday afternoon and inflicted on the Amsterdam side their worst-ever Eredivisie defeat.
It took them a while to get going but when they did, Feyenoord clicked right into gear, romping to a memorable 6-0 win.
Although Ajax have had a shocking season and currently sit sixth in the Eredivisie compared to their De Klassieker rivals who are second, nothing should be taken away from yesterday’s result.
It shines a light on how impressive the Hoops’ win over the Dutch side was and next season in Europe, Celtic will look to kick on from it.
