The Steven Gerrard Precedent Which Clears Path for Celtic

There has been some suggestion that Celtic’s managerial hunt and their reported top target Ange Postecoglou might not be able to manage in Europe because he doesn’t have his UEFA Pro licence.

It means he took over at Ibrox without the pro licence and it didn’t disqualify the Englishman from taking over.

This was our inclination all along, as much as the board have shown how inept they can be this year, it’s a detail that would have been spoken about straight off the bat.

The media has hyped up the arrival of the Australian coach since Friday and we’re waiting to see what comes of it.

After the Eddie Howe debacle, all bets are off as far as we’re concerned.

If he’s wanted at Celtic park, not having his pro licence shouldn’t be an issue.
