The Staggering Cost of Celtic Dubai Trip Revealed

The Celtic affiliation had a zoom conference with the club last week to talk all things Celtic and what’s happening at the club.

ACSOM podcast regular Kevin Graham was on hand to let listeners know what had been said during the meeting with John Paul Taylor.

John Paul Taylor told the affiliation he directly passes on information to Peter Lawwell from the affiliation, other organisations and general fan queries.

One thing which was mentioned during the meeting was the Dubai trip.

It caused so much controversy at the start of January we were still talking about it as February approached.

The affiliation asked how much it cost the club to take the team to Dubai and the answer was a whopping £400k.

Given what went on, the resulting isolation of 16 staff and the final nail in the coffin of our season, it beggars belief we shelled out that much money for the trip.

Some people say in hindsight it wasn’t a good idea, but in reality, there were plenty of people questioning the move before the trip took place.

Celtic seemed to have tunnel vision when it came to the training camp with Neil Lennon desperate to get his team away and somehow regroup.

The club would put their under 18s on furlough not long after this trip. It’s likely the under 18 budget is separate from the first team budget but it’s still not what you want to see from our club.
