Celtic secured a Glasgow Derby victory on Sunday afternoon, despite it not looking too likely pre-match. Japanese striker Kyogo’s terrific volley ensured the three points came back to Parkhead, as the millions of Hoops’ fans watching at home rejoiced.
Throughout the match, the champions stood firm. In defence, Brendan Rodgers’ men were stout. The match could have gone on all night and Rangers wouldn’t have scored as Joe Hart and Liam Scales stood out at the back for the Bhoys.
Going forward, it was Kyogo who proved to be the difference maker, his goal in first-half stoppage time eventually winning it for the Hoops. It was a strike of brilliance from the Japanese internationalist, who utterly silenced Ibrox when he netted.
As can be seen and heard in unique angle footage courtesy of Celtic TV, the stadium was muted when the 28-year-old rattled into the bottom corner from outside the box:

On YouTube, Celtic’s description ‘the sound of silence’ was perfectly fitting. Albeit having no away fans can be frustrating, moments like Kyogo’s goal where Ibrox was hushed are truly remembered.
