PSG are a team not short of a few quid and can afford to be lax when it comes to young players – but not when you’re Timothy Weah.
The striker who is now on his way to join up with Celtic in Dubai was in the last 18-months of his deal with the Paris club.
PSG rate the striker so highly they insisted on signing the striker to a new contract before sending him out to Celtic, slowing down his Parkhead arrival.
Timothy Weah will be one of two strikers set to come in this January and while he is only 18 – it’s clear to see how much the player is rated. The USA forward has already started and scored for the first team this year, and he has now extended his PSG deal until 2021.
Reports have varied on how long Weah will come into Celtic for; There are talks of a 6-month deal with an option of another 12-months or a straight up 18-month agreement.
We will likely find out tomorrow.
The player has been confident of his move to Celtic since before the window opened. They must have been settling terms at their end before letting him go.
