The Real Reason Neil Lennon Hasn’t Signed his Celtic Deal Yet

Some Celtic fans have been wondering why the communication from the club has gone silent over the past 72 hours after they announced they had offered Neil Lennon the full time job.

It was minutes after Celtic lifted the Scottish Cup that Peter Lawwell gave the OK for the Celtic website to announce he had been offered the job. A silly thing to do when you haven’t ironed out the details with the man himself and presumptuous Neil would just take whatever he’s given.

There are two reasons for the radio silence at the moment which gives further credence to the notion Celtic should have held off until they managed to secure their manager.

Reason one is that both Neil Lennon and Peter Lawwell have left Glasgow to head out on Holiday the day after the cup final. The Irishman even spotted with ex-Celtic midfielder. Kris Commons yesterday evening.

The second reason is, the former Celtic captain has demands and one of them is personnel related. Not a specific player but his assistant coach who has followed him since his Celtic days – Garry Parker.

Neil wants a reunion with his former assistant at Parkhead and wants this in place for him signing his Celtic deal according to Record Sport.

Again, it just seems mental that Peter Lawwell announced this with NOTHING being ironed out with regards to Neil bringing in his own team AND what sort of budget Neil might get to improve upon his side.
