The New Chant Celtic Players Are Singing on the Team Bus

Aaron Mooy revealed his Celtic teammates have picked up on the latest chant from the Hoops supporters and they’re singing it on the team bus!

The Australian scored his first and second goal for Celtic during the final game of 2022. Just off the World Cup, Mooy has come back to Celtic looking better than ever.

His goal exploits and general play didn’t go unnoticed by the supporters who serenaded the midfielder with ‘Aaron, Aaron Mooy’ to the tune of Daddy Cool. After the game, Aaron told the print edition of the Scottish Daily Mail, December 30, his teammates are singing it.

Mooy said: “All the boys are on the team bus singing it now. Harry Kewell mentioned it to me and I didn’t understand, now I do!

“It’s always nice when the supporters get behind you, that’s what you want. I just try and improve, work hard and do my best — that’s all I can do. Hopefully, they like what they see. It’s not really in my control. I try my best.

“I just keep going, keep trying to get better and hopefully keep helping the team. It’s a great feeling to score my first goals for Celtic. I have had chances in previous games and they haven’t come off for me. So yeah, when one goes in it’s an amazing feeling.

“I’m enjoying it, it’s an amazing club. It was a shock because it’s a big, big club. There’s 60,000 people every home game, demanding a win. It’s a different sort of pressure, but I’m enjoying it. Hopefully, it makes me a better player.”

Aaron had a slow start to his Celtic career. Ange brought the player in to play a specific role in the team. The Celtic manager was clear once Aaron was up to speed, he would show how good he can be.

The World Cup has really helped Mooy tune up his game and Celtic are now seeing the benefit. There’s a big call to be made before the derby at Ibrox. Will Mooy keep his place.
