Celtic will not have the luxury—or the frustration—of a winter break following their painful 3-0 defeat to Rangers at Ibrox.

Instead, they return to action in under 72 hours with a home fixture against St Mirren on Sunday.
The quick turnaround offers Brendan Rodgers’ men the perfect opportunity to bounce back with a strong performance at Celtic Park, keeping the momentum in their title defence alive.
In past seasons, a January winter break often followed the New Year derby, leaving players and fans stewing over the result for weeks.
This year, however, Celtic have no such pause, and for Rodgers’ side, that might be a blessing in disguise.
Sunday’s game against St Mirren allows the Hoops to refocus and regain their stride in front of a supportive home crowd.
The rapid return to action gives the team a chance to respond quickly to what was hands down their worst performance of the season.
While the derby result stung, Celtic remain 11 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table. A win against St Mirren would serve as a reminder of the team’s domestic dominance and prevent the defeat at Ibrox from becoming a lingering issue.
Hopefully, Celtic can return to winning ways on Sunday.
