This is the first chance I’ve had to write an article about yesterday’s emphatic 9-0 victory over Dundee United at Tannadice.
For months I have maintained that one team was going to get a real thrashing off Ange Postecoglou’s side with how relentless and focused Celtic’s football can be.
The Hoops teased it towards the end of the last campaign with impressive scorelines against St Johnstone and Motherwell.

Competition throughout the team is as strong as it has ever been that I can remember. With important domestic games and the glamour of Real Madrid on the horizon, every player is wanting to impress the manager.
Every single player who turned out in Hoops yesterday couldn’t be faulted with the substitutes even chipping in towards the end of the game.
What is incredible is that Sead Haksabanovic and Giorgos Giakoumakis weren’t in the squad yesterday with both attackers likely to add even more quality to the team.
It has been well documented that Celtic didn’t get off to the best starts last season but it is interesting to look back with multiple journalists from Australia and Japan stating that Ange’s teams really come to the boil in season two.
There was some impressive victories at home at the beginning of last season with two 6-0 victories against Dundee and St Mirren but even with those twelve goals it took the Hoops until the middle of October (nine games) to score 21 goals in the league.
This feat was matched yesterday five games into the campaign when Carl Starfelt nodded in his second Celtic goal to make it 9-0.

Postecoglou’s team are only five games into the season but have already reached that accomplishment which says it all about the teams hunger this season.
So far, the Hoops have already visited venues such as Victoria Park, Rugby Park and Tannadice which have always been tough places to go to yet Postecoglou’s side has cruised each game.
