GREG TAYLOR could be set to start for Scotland against Ukraine on Tuesday. He replaced Kieran Tierney on Saturday night, who took a sore one in Scotland’s match against Ireland.
The former Celtic left-back wasn’t pleased that the physios had decided it was best he was taken off, but they clearly weren’t willing to take any risks.
Greg Taylor came on and impressed those watching the match at Hampden. The Celtic left-back had 29 passes, only misplacing one. He created two chances with his 37 touches and had a 100% tackle success rate, and won both of his duels. [Fotmob]
He’s been top-class this season for Celtic, as he was last year. Greg’s created nine chances for Celtic in the league this season and has created five in the Champions League in just two games. Remarkable stuff from the full-back.
He’s been brilliant with the ball, completing 98 passes in Europe. In the Champions League, he’s won 80% of his tackles in his 180 minutes played.

He’s taken the inverted full-back role and has come on leaps and bounds, making it his own.
Scotland has a great few full-backs, with Andy Robertson and Kieran Tierney both top players and Aaron Hickey now entering the conversation. But Greg Taylor’s name should be in the conversation. He’s criminally underrated by many, and he should be a serious contender for a significant role within the side.
