The Glasgow Derby Trap Celtic Must Not Fall Into

Some people are already looking past the St Mirren game on Thursday as the Glasgow Derby at Celtic Park looms.

However, there’s no overlooking the fact that any dropped points against the Paisley side would be catastrophic going into the game against The Rangers and hurt the club’s momentum.

Neil Lennon will want his players to remain focused amid Christmas festivities and the Boxing Day fixture before getting ready for their end of year fixture.

Celtic beat Steven Gerrard’s men at Ibrox earlier in the season but while the result itself was pleasing, dropping points shortly after to Hibs then Livingston nullified the win.

The club and support must not take any game for granted and a Boxing day tie in Paisley against a stubborn St Mirren side on a smaller, less refined pitch will have its challenges.

I don’t see silky football winning the day against Jim Goodwin’s men and it’ll be all about grinding out a result while keeping our top stars fit.
