Brought in from Valerenga for £2.5m last summer, Odin Holm didn’t quite live up to his ‘wonder-kid’ reputation during his first year with Celtic.

Despite a promising start to life in Glasgow with a few impressive cameos, Holm never got going amid injuries and squad competition, ending the campaign with just 13 first-team appearances to his name.
This pre-season, though, he has been quietly impressing.
The 21-year-old has started both of the Bhoys’ friendlies so far and looked the part. Holm won the penalty which led to Kyogo’s opener against Ayr last Friday, and caught the eye once again versus Queen’s Park.
He was tidy in the middle of the park alongside Matt O’Riley and Bosun Lawal, setting up the Hoops’ fourth of the night with a lovely reverse ball.
In flashes, Holm showed his ability last term. Brendan Rodgers previously described him as ‘very gifted’, and clearly holds his talent in high regard.
Still just 21, the midfielder will be determined to make an impact this season.
His trophy snub at the end of last campaign was telling, and a sign that he knows he must improve in 2024/25. So far he has done so, but it remains early days.
