BIRMINGHAM Live have run with a story today which has found its way onto Celtic social media.
The headline read ‘Oliver Burke set for Celtic Move’. The headline itself was entirely misleading as the article states a Turkish media outlet claims a Celtic interest with absolutely nothing to back it up.
We have seen stories before coming from Fotomac which have had no basis in reality. What appears to be at work at the moment is Oli looks set for a move to Turkey and it looks great if it appears Burke has rejected some top clubs before a potential move to Trabzonspor.
If you recall Burke’s loan spell at the club, the midfielder got more game time under Brendan Rodgers than he did Neil Lennon. Once the current Celtic manager was in place, Oli became a squad player at best with the Irishman not fancying the pacey Scottish winger.
The same media outlet Birmingham live have got their story from over the past 48 hours are claiming now that Burke is very close to a deal
Fotomac write: ‘Trabzonspor reached the final stage in the transfer of Scottish winger Burke, who played in West Bromwich.’
So, if you’re on a Celtic Facebook page or on social media and sites are passing this off as face, it’s anything but fact at the moment.
If anything does arise surrounding the player it will come from much more respected and knowledgable sources.
