DAVID MOYES spoke to TalkSport this morning in an interview which can only really be seen as a ‘come get me’ plea to anyone, anywhere who has a job for him.
The former Everton and Manchester United boss has been out of the game since leaving Sunderland last year and is looking to get back into management.
There was once a time when a lot of Celtic fans would have entertained the notion of Moyes taking over at Celtic but it would appear that ship has sailed with so many online down on the idea.
As Moyes looks to get back into the game his interview comes across as so desperate as he tries to cover all his angles in case anyone out there with power hears him.
He was asked by TalkSports hosts if he’d take the Celtic job or just manage in Scotland in general – including the national team.
“Scotland have got the nucleus of a team which is forming.” Moyes told TalkSport as cited by SunSport.“Obviously we’re short of a centre forward at the moment and one or two others but there is a group of Scottish players you’d hope would get better results than what we’ve had.”
“I prefer the day-to-day but can I see myself being a national manager? Of course.
So he’d take the Scotland job.
“But at the moment my first choice would be to go back into club management.
But only if any club doesn’t want him!
So, Celtic?
“I think I’d be open to whatever’s right [England or Scotland]. The best league to manage in is the English Premier League.
“I played for Celtic.” he stated, “But I’ve got to say, if I got a chance to go back and work in Spain again or a chance to work in Germany or Italy I would take those opportunities as well.”
He literally covers all his bases and makes sure Premier League clubs know where he’d rather be.
This should rule this desperate man out of contention for any job at Celtic.
