The Divisive Viral Celtic Statement

It’s been a week since Celtic posted the now famous tweet ‘We’re not half of anything’.

The post, a reaction to being called one half of the Old Firm in a document between the Ibrox club and the Scottish government was enough for Celtic to send out this message.

Since it was posted it’s been retweeted nearly 7k times, quotes nearly 5k and liked by over 27k. It truly went viral once it had dropped. Many Celtic fans delighted to see some distancing between themselves.

Celtic don’t officially use the term Old Firm and haven’t for well over a decade.

There was some idiotic articles in the paper after this post talking about how the club renewed the ‘old firm’ trademark this month.

Had reporters done their homework, they would have been able to realise the club has kept hold of the trademark so it can’t be used by others.

The club on the whole runs very professionally, the rattling of a cage every once in a while is fine by me. It did divide opinion but I have to say, it was amusing to see rival fans flock to the post.
