Harry Kewell has been afforded time off by the club to finalise his move to manage Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan.

Kewell was notably absent from the Celtic bench during their Boxing Day victory over Dundee. This absence was due to a leave of absence granted by Celtic, allowing Kewell to negotiate his managerial return
The delay in movement is due to the coach, soon-to-be manager, spending time with his family during the festive period, as RecordSport reports. This will likely explain why an announcement has not been made yet, but reports from Japan and Australia indicate the deal is complete.
He’s already got an assistant lined up, indicating an announcement is imminent and Kewell will soon take the step back into the dugout as manager.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has expressed his support for Kewell’s career move, indicating he would not obstruct Kewell’s opportunity to return to management.
Brendan Rodgers will almost certainly be eyeing up others to take up the coaching void Kewell will leave when he does depart Celtic for Yokohama F. Marinos.
