Brendan Rodgers returned to Celtic over the summer to much appraisal. Most Hoops fans were eventually for the move and those who weren’t have been won over now.
Upon coming back to Glasgow, the Irishman didn’t alter the coaching set-up at Lennoxtwon significantly. Harry Kewell, John Kennedy, and Gavin Strachan remained in place, although a fourth key backroom member was added to the team over the summer.
The return of Jack Lyons flew well under the radar when Rodgers made his way back to Celtic. A young tactical and opposition-analysis coach, Lyons’ online blog caught the attention of Rodgers and several staff at Lennoxtown in the double-treble-winning boss’ first spell in charge.

He was soon brought into the set-up by Rodgers, and he followed the 50-year-old down to Leicester. It was known by few, but the young coach then came back to Celtic with Rodgers in the summer.
Lyons is a key member of the coaching team. On him, Rodgers recently said (The Scotsman): “And obviously Jack Lyons. I brought in Jack as a really young, talented coach who is analytically brilliant. He can analyse and present that to players too.”
Still a relatively young coach, Lyons will improve his craft as he gains even more experience working in football. He has already done well, though, aiding Leicester to win the FA Cup and Community Shield and the Hoops to win several trophies.
