The Celtic Breakthrough Nobody Saw Coming

Did anyone see this coming?

Ryan Christie burst onto the scene in November last year. It’s been 13 months since the player came on in the semi-final of the League Cup at Murrayfield and won Celtic the game.

The player looked on his way out of Celtic Park after failing to make the grade. Neil Lennon even tried to sign the midfielder for Hibernian before he rejoined Celtic later in the season.

Even after Ryan’s contributions last season, I must admit I didn’t see the player becoming prolific. He’s taken his game to a new level under Neil Lennon and it doesn’t matter where he’s played, Ryan is usually in the thick of the action.

The former ICT man has come in and dislodged Tom Rogic over the past year which took some doing considering the impact Tom had on the side over the past three years.

As we sit here today the player has scored 17 goals and made 11 assists so far in 30 games for the Hoops. That’s incredible work.

The midfielder can be devastating and when he isn’t in the side, Celtic can suffer.

When it comes to the Glasgow Derby game at the end of the month, we must make sure Ryan has a big say in the outcome.
