The situation surrounding Celtic goalkeeper Ben Siegrist continues to puzzle fans as pre-season gets well and truly underway.

After indicating he would not return to Parkhead, Siegrist surprisingly showed up for pre-season training. Last month, Ben Siegrist talked about his intentions to leave, with the Scottish Cup final day his last day. He said, “After my last day at work, I’ll leave as soon as possible. And I’ll never come back here (to Celtic).”
Then, surprisingly, he didn’t play any part in Celtic’s opening pre-season match against Ayr, failing to make the squad. Scott Bain and younger goalkeepers, Tobi Oluwayemi and Josh Clarke, took the field.
Siegrist has now appeared on the bench for Celtic’s friendly against Queens Park. This participation has only added layers to the ongoing uncertainty about his status at the club.
Siegrist, who was brought to Celtic by former manager Ange Postecoglou, has found it challenging to secure a regular spot in the first team, even on the bench.
It will be interesting to see what the next few weeks have in store for the Swiss keeper.
