Celtic had to submit their squad to the UEFA last night ahead of their crunch Champions League tie with Hapoel Be’er Sheva. It made for some interesting reading.
Products of the club’s youth system are included in List B, which is reserved for young players, freeing up room for other players on the main list.
Patrick Roberts has made the squad even though there are severe doubts he’ll be able to play in either tie. However, the glaring omission is Kris Commons who Brendan Rodges has dropped completely from his side.
The midfielder has been injured and struggling to get fit as the Rodgers Revolution takes place. This puts the former Scottish international in a precarious position. The train may have left the station without him. When he is fully fit we will see if Rodgers rates the players on-field contribution.
A squad slot has also been left open for a potential wild card position which could be filled by a player brought into the club before the tie.
Here is the full list for the double header.
