“That’s Very Exciting to Hear” – Anthony Joseph on the Future of Celtic Under Brendan Rodgers

Anthony Joseph, a Sky Sports journalist, recently expressed optimism about Celtic’s future under Brendan Rodgers during an appearance on the CeltsAreHere podcast.

He suggested that under Rodgers’ leadership, Celtic could not only look forward to domestic success but also aim for greater focus on European competitions now and for the coming decade.

He said, “It was being talked to me by contacts and people close to the deal with Rodgers coming back to Celtic, as a Celtic fan, that was very exciting to hear that Europe is finally being seen as a focus rather than just a bonus.”

Joseph pointed out that while immediate success in the Champions League might not be realistic, winning the domestic league this season could set a strong foundation for future growth. He added, “Win the league this year and then let’s see where Celtic are and what they can do with the extra cash, the extra pulling power, and to grow as a club for the next decade and beyond.”

The award-winning journalist believes that success under Rodgers could have long-term benefits for the club, boosting its ability to attract top-tier managerial and player talent in the future. He stated, “Beyond Rodgers at Celtic, they’ll have pulling power to bring in better managers, the pulling power to bring in better players. That’s the potential.”

However, he cautioned that things may not necessarily unfold as planned, pointing out that winning the league is not a guaranteed outcome.

Still, his overall tone remained hopeful and optimistic about Celtic’s prospects under Rodgers’ second tenure.

It’s certainly shaping up to be an exciting season, with a lot on the line for the Hoops. Hopefully, Brendan Rodgers can guide the team to their third successive league title, and pick up where he left off.
